Many families do not camp on the winter. It is too cold to spend time outside, the water is too cold and other weather factors are too unpredictable. However, traveling with the family year-round can still be enjoyed and you can always have a room with a view.
In January 2020, we made a pilgimage to Augusta, GA to visit the Anthropologie outlet called Final Cut. My wife and 2 teenage daughters spent hours picking out $15 pairs of jeans and other items that are normally over $100 in the stores. Olly and I just relaxed in the parking lot in the Airstream.
We chose to make this adventure into a winter camping trip. We found a lakeside spot at Hamilton Branch State Park in South Carolina. The spot was fantastic, right on the water. Because it was January, finding a spot was very easy and we had just one neighbor. Although we didn’t spend a ton of time outside, we were able to spend some very quality time as a family and the girls were able to enjoy some quality retail therapy.
So, don’t let winter keep you from enjoying time with the family in a “room” with a view.
