When running 2 businesses, renovating a house and dealing with all the personalities that tag along, we said TIME OUT. Back to Hamilton Branch State Park near Augusta, GA. We originally booked Stone Mountain in Atlanta for the Yellow Daisey Festival, but they cancelled the show due to COVID.
When camping, Olly always wakes me up to go for a walk. This morning it was at 5am. We got back around 5:30 or so. We went back to sleep, then he did it again at 7:00. I think he forgot about the 5am walk. We did see 2 armadillos and a fawn.
We are in spot 112 which is challenging. It isn’t as private as other spaces and the hookups are on the wrong side. So, we pulled in forward, unhooked, then performed an Austin Powers move to get out of the tight space. The space is right on the lake with easy access, which is very nice. There is an island located a short kayak paddle away. There are also 2 trees sticking out of the water that are perfect for a hammock.
As I mentioned before, we come here mainly for the shopping. The girls will spend hours at Final Cut located in Augusta. This is the closeout store for Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters where $100 outfits go for $5 to $25. I hear they finally have men’s clothes now. Maybe Olly and I will go…or just lay in the hammock above the water.
