My favorite campground since we started in 2018 is Edisto. This was the 3rd trip this year. It is a far 8 hour drive for us, but worth it. This trip, we had spot 63 which was very shady and had a direct path through the dune to the beach. It was very spacious and easy to get into.
We brought with us an amazing 3-person hammock called the Trillium. It was amazing. It was firm, yet comfortable. I also found that you had an unobstructed view, where other hammocks have high sides.
One thing we found out was that August in South Carolina is HOT! We wanted to stay outside during the day, but started sweating immediately. So, we went to Lowes and bought a $20 mister that hooked up to a hose. Heat problem is solved. We mounted it on a rope over the big hammmock, so we all were able to relax in the heat. Yes, we did get wet, but it felt so good.
