Well, we are not in a tree house, but it feels like one. Doll Mountain Campground has campsites high above the lake it feels like we are amongst trees. The site is very well maintained with a level concrete pad and a perfect placement for the fire pit. There is also a wood deck perched high above the lake
This site (41) has a very steep path to the lake, which is managable, but not with a kayak. However, the boat launch is close, so, we just paddled from there to our spot and tied them off. Now, we just have to brave the steep hill. After the morning walk with Olly, we noticed the other sites did not have any access to the water. But again, the boat ramp was close.
The lake is in the middle a mountain setting. The water is very clear and there is an abundance of wildlife enjoying their own lakefront homes. The volunteer mentioned that there has been frequent bear sightings at our site, however, none has been seen yet.
So far, I do like Doll Mountain. It would be better if there were better access to the water.
