Places We Have Been

Camping in the Big Easy

This was a very interesting trip. We took in some Urban Camping at the French Quarter RV Resort. This campground is more expensive than we are used to, but it is Fabulous! We were able to walk to the French Quarter (maybe not safe to do at night) and ate some great food. The restaurants are remarkable. The campground is basically a nice big parking lot with brick pavers and a ton of amenities. There is a pool, a bar, a hottub, large laundry room and some of the nicest shower/bathrooms I have seen. We loved the skyline at night and the sounds of the city.

We ended up driving into the French Quarter each afternoon/evening to eat. We found parking to a bit challenging, but not too bad. It may be because we were visiting in December and not during football weekend. We checked out the steet performers, ate beignets, bought some art and took in the flavors of New Orleans.

I think wee need to explore more cities with downtown camping.
