Most hammocks swallow you up without the ability to see your surroundings. So, typically, you can have the best spot next to the river or a great view of a valley, but if you can’t see it, then you might as well put up the hammock in your front yard.
To fix this issue, we splurged on a Trillium 3-person Hammock from Tentsile. We can all enjoy the hammock and still see all the beauty of our special hammock spot. We added the quilted top option so that the air does not flow from underneath on colder days.
The great part of the Trillium is that you basically lay on top of the taunt hammock. It comes with heavy duty straps and ratchets that you tighten as much as you can. When you get in it, you sink down in one of the comfortable 3 sections without having to feel like you are in a cocoon.

Setup does take a bit of planning to make sure there are 3 trees that fit the size requirements and are about the same angle apart. If it is off, you may have one saggy side. There are some tricks such as turning the strap around the tree so that the long part comes to the hammock at a better angle. We have been very fortunate to find suitable trees at most of our camping spots.
I highly recommend the Tentsile Trillium Hammock. We may get the optional sides and rainfly and sleep in a comfortable, quilted, elevated tent.
