In the past couple of months, we had to be in Atlanta for consecutive days. First, our daughter graduated from Georgia State University in May with a B.S. in Nursing. There was her pinning ceremony one day and the graduation the next day. Our other daughter will also be going to Georgia State. So, in June, we had new student orientation one day and a reception for Valedictorians on the next day.
For these events, we would have to travel back and forth from Chattanooga (2 hours each way). We had to be home each evening because of our pets. Instead, we found spaces at McKinney Campground on Lake Allatoona. The campground is just 35 minutes from downtown, it is lakefront, and we can fit in some much needed rest.
In June, we had space 24. It was lakefront, but the lake was through the woods with not much of a view. We made the reservations last minute, so, I was glad to just get a spot.
In June, we had space 121 which was on a peninsula. We had better lake views, but the camper in the space next to us block much of our view. Spaces 122,123 and 124 would have been amazing. This was also a last minute reservation, so, I was just glad to get in.
The lake is very active with fishing, swimming and boating. Our activity was just watching the lake and the boats that buzz on by.
